Set up fund for medical bills?

How could I go about collecting money or setting up some sort of
account for a person who has cancer. In terms of helping with medical
bills? I am at a loss and would like to know something. This person
just found out she has bad breast cancer and her husband is a
Christian singer that I am sure does not have good insurance or alot
of money.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

You don't need anything formal. Or, you could easily set up a trust. The
trustee would then open a trust account at a bank. You could get fancy and
form a charity, a corporation with IRC 501(c)(3) status, but I think you
can't do that just for an individual, it must be for the good of the
community. 501 corp contribution would be tax deductible.
