Will rights of a beneficiary?

Hello All
I have recently become a beneficiary under the terms of a recently
deceased individual's Will together with two other family of similar
ranking to myself in relation to the deceased. However, I would like
to seek comment over the following.
One of the other beneficiaries has also been nominated as the
Executrix under the Will terms who I do not trust. For example, the
Executrix's husband has previously been convicted of theft and is a
very shady character. Both the executrix and the shady husband are
money mad and also spend a lot of time drinking. From that, both the
executrix and her husband are not the most trustworthy when it comes
to money from their general characters and past history.
Anyhow, I want to keep a close eye on this individual in relation to
the administration of the deceased's estate as I have read a few posts
on newsgroups from beneficiaries concerning dishonest executor's
conduct. So can anyone pass comment on what my legal rights are and
what requests can be made of the executrix to ensure she's doing the
delegated administration job properly.
Many thanks for any comments
regards
Jon

IANAL and don'tknow the answer but it makes one wonder how such a character was
nominated as executor in the first place.

As a beneficiary you have the right to be kept informed of what is going
on. Assuming that you are a beneficiary of a percentage share of residue
(as opposed to a fixed legacy) you have a right to see accounts.
If the Executrix doesn't get on with things, the Court has power to replace
her

If any property is in the will, the executors must give effect to the wishes
of the beneficiaries in disposing of the property so you are in a strong
position to protect your legal rights
