k I think I found it. Thanks for the part about the "exculpatory no," which made searching a breeze. It appears to be 18 USC § 1001(a)(2). I'm assuming "matter" in (a) means a criminal investigation?? But (a)(1) seems to say whoever "covers up" any

I've always heard that lying to a federal agent is a crime.. unlike lying to the local police. Can anybody explain that to me -- ie., does that include any federal agent.. IRS, FBI, CIA, USPS?? And does anybody know where in the code that "crime" is?
