What more information do you need? This comes directly from their tagline:

"Incorporating Businesses Since 1899"

Since 1899! That's an established business! But, I'll tell you what else you need to make a decision about The Company Corporation.

The Company Corporation has 25 offices around the country (most online Incorporators have one base office, and form their entities all around the US.) All said, The Company Corporation has formed over 300,000 Incorporations and LLCs. Last year they formed 125,000 new corporations! That's almost 1 in 7 of all new corporations formed in the U.S.

The Company Corporation (corporate.com) goes one step beyond all other online Incorporation providers. They will provide $50,000 for your legal defense if you are held personally liable in a law suit for a pierced corporate veil. That's a strong reason to use this service to form your entity.

The Company Corporation provides an 800 number right on the home page. You can call them up directly for advice about forming your Incorporation or LLC.

Just like you'd expect from a company with over 100 years of experience, the customer ratings are excellent. If you have used this company to form your Incorporation or LLC, please help the community out by leaving a review of your own.

The Company Corporation is a Big Rip-Off, 11/6/2011 10:43:04 AM
Reviewer: Anonymous from Stroudsburg, PA
Years ago I used the Company Corporation to incorporate my business. Yes I paid them their fee and was happy to receive the packet that included the official seal and all. The payment included a free Register Agent service. It was a year later that I received a bill to allow them to continue the registered Agent service, the Gotcha. They do not give you a way to cancel this service and when you call them they give you a run around on how to cancel the service. So if you use them do not sign up for the Free Register Agent Service because you will never get out of it, even if your company goes under. They give no benefit because you can check your own mail.

What do you do everyday?, 3/31/2006 10:38:08 PM
Reviewer: Anonymous from New York
This company specializes in helping hard working people get their company situated. No matter what your entity is or does I can guarantee one thing it does not help people set up their entity. So let them do what they do, they do it fast and well. I ordered their most expensive package including extra reference material because I, like many of you out there wouldn’t be researching everything online if I already knew.
Wouldn’t you be surprised to know the company set up my entity (LLC in this case) also sent me the perfect references and tools that my company needed. Go figure. buy the way I got my official documents faster than I expected and completed my whole process from ordering their services to running a smooth business in less that one week. I suggest you take a step back and let the companies that specialize do there job. Let the same be said for payroll, insurance, and any other service you company needs because lets face it, its all deductible.

Affordable and Quick, 9/29/2004 8:12:01 PM
Reviewer: Anonymous from Hanover, Maryland
I used www.corporate.com (The Company Corporation) to set up an LLC in Pennsylvania in February 2004. The process was affordable ($324 INCLUDING the State of Pennsylvania's fees) and quick. The customer service rep knew how long the process would take and followed up with me as promised. It was a smooth, painless experience. Definitely worth the money to avoid the hassle of setting the LLC up myself.

Simple and convenient, 9/23/2004 10:42:25 PM
Reviewer: Jason Apgar from New York City, NY USA
I wasn't really sure where to start, but by speaking to their Incorporation specialists I was able to begin my research. After a couple of more calls and a month later I knew what I needed to do and turned back to them after shopping around.

Their experience and friendly manner on the phone made me turn to them for help.

Got everything back in 7 days.

 TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, 8/14/2009 1:11:39 AM
Reviewer: Anonymous from Salt Lake City, UT
The Company Corporation is a bad experience that won't seem to ever go away. My contract with them was for one year. Five months after that contract ended, I am still hounded with phone calls and receive letters threatening to assess fees and/or revoke my LLC, or generally harrass me into needing their service again. There is nothing that they do for you initially or afterward that you can't do for yourself by contacting your state's business office.

They take advantage of new entrepreneurs, 3/28/2012 1:05:37 PM
Reviewer: Anonymous from Las Vegas, NV
The company does an effective job of creating corporate entities, but they are SPECTACULAR at taking advantage of people unfamiliar with the laws and regulations surrounding corporations and LLCs.

They formed a company for me and filed for the company to do business in another state.

The business did not survive and was dissolved in the home state. FOURTEEN months after dissolution, I receive a bill for a few hundred dollars for registered agent fees.

Apparently they saw no need to advise that I had to withdraw from the foreign registry separately from dissolving the company. And of course the registered agent saw no reason to advise of state mandated filing fees in the foreign state either.

Now for about $125 (plus fees) they will withdraw the now defunct company from the foreign state but I still owe for their services I did not know they were providing.

It is interesting that they only found my email address to tell me all this at this late date.

They are purely exploitive and will continue to be as long as they can get away with it. They are predators, pure and simple.

Easier without their help, 8/4/2011 7:05:59 AM
Reviewer: Alex from IL
I started a company and paid them $299 and all they did was make a couple of calls and find out which forms needed to be filed. I could have called or drove to the IRS office and got the same info for free. They were going to take care of all the paperwork but I still ended up filling them out then I have to fax them back to them. They told me it could be 4-6 weeks to get my business registration. I drove to my IRS office dropped off the application and had my number the next day and the hardcopy 3 days later. So believe me when I tell you to save your money, make a couple of calls. It will go much faster. And you will spend a lot less time on the phone explaining everything to them.

Terrible service additional information, 4/13/2011 3:16:13 PM
Reviewer: Simon from Pennsylvania
In addition to the problem I reported below with Company Corporation's fraudulently signing up as my coporate registar (refer to my review below), I just had another bad surprise as a result of their incorporation service described below. Please read carefully not to make the same mistake, and do not use Company Corporation for your incorporation services.

When I incorporated, I selected the Subchapter S corporation on the CC on-line questionnaire. CC on-line system led me to believe that their service would register my company as a subchapter S. It turned out that I had to pay CC extra for filing the proper form with the IRS to make my company an S corporation (critical if you want to carry profits and losses to your individual tax return). Since I did buy the extra service, CC just registered my company as default C corporation without clearly letting me know. CC does not even inform their customers that a special form must be filed with the IRS after incorporation in order to register for the subchapter S status. Why then they ask their customers to specify whether they want to register a subchapter S or C? I only found out about the improper registration when my accountant started to prepare our tax return for 2010.

Again, I do not recommend using The Company Corporation services.

Company Corporation is a scam, 3/25/2011 10:20:27 AM
Reviewer: John from San Francisco, CA

Despite my requests, continues to bill me for non existent services and refuses to cancel my account. Everything seems fine for the first few months, but then spammy, borderline fraud letters for services not rendered start to arrive. Avoid any kind of relationship with this company.

Do not use The Company Corporation, 1/14/2011 8:34:46 AM
Reviewer: Simon from Pennsylvania, USA
I used The Company Corporation to register my company in Pennsylvania last year. Their price was at par with other services, but I used them because I had a good experience with them when I registered another company 15 years ago (they just started their services). I just learned how they tried to trick me into more unnecessary services.
After we received a bill from them for

Charged me $328 for NOTHING!, 7/10/2010 12:10:23 AM
Reviewer: Lofgren from Austin, TX
They charged me $328 to set up a LLC but never provided me ANY services! I never gave them my company name for so how could they do it? I called to ask some questions and ended up setting up an account with the condition that no charge go through until I gave them a COMPANY NAME - Duh! They said they needed my credit card information to help me but guaranteed me that no charges would be made until they got my approval and company name.

I decided not to go with them before I found out they charged me because the only thing they provide is the most basic LLC paperwork-request for cert. of formation from the state. I realized that I'd still need Company Agreement/Operating Agreement/Regulations and Organizational Meeting not to mention a little guidance. I was able to find a real attorney who specializes in start-ups who did everything above and more for $325 in addition to the state filing fee. The local PakMail where I set up my address is my registered agent for free (COMPANY STORE charges extra).

I am shocked that the Company Store, which tries appear reputable by partnering with SCORE, could bill a potential customer for NOTHING. I am so glad I checked my credit card statement.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from The Company Store.

Horrible business to start your corporation, 1/23/2010 1:18:40 PM
Reviewer: Professional medical corporation from Los Angeles, CA USA
I started my s corp with the company corporation. They immediately sent out my info to other companies that send you tons of junk mail. Then I found out that there are multiple requirements my s corp needs, such as changes to the generic bylaws and articles of incorporation they send you, that the comp corp never told me about. I had to find out through friends and my accountant. After I contacted them several times about this they could not offer any help as to how to amend the bylaws, and stated it isnt within the scope of their services. Then they offer your corporation registered agent service for 225$, through another company that they actually own. They never tell you that an officer within your corp, such as yourself, can be its own registered agent. When I told them this, they said I have to send proof that Im changing my registered agent to myself, or they will send the 225$ invoice to collections. All this SIX months before their times up to be my registered agent. This is a very money hungry company that could care less about the PROPER formation of your corporation. They have been very nasty in their emails to me. I would definitely go with another company.

They don't respect client privacy!!, 10/19/2009 12:43:54 PM
Reviewer: Anonymous from PA, USA
Company Corporation set up my LLC. Expected some degree of privacy. They passed my name and phone number to a compnay selling business credit services. This company called me 4 times in 36 hours. I did not ask to be solicited, did not authorize Company Corportaion to share my info with anyone and certainly don't want a series of annoying, unsolicited sales calls. Highly disappointed in their ethics!! Think twice about using them.

 HORRIBLE, 7/15/2009 5:40:08 AM
Reviewer: Anonymous from Pennsylvania
I thought that I had to use a place like this to form my LLC! I was so wrong. I should have done it myself. This place was not helpful, at all. In fact, when deciding to dissolve my company (still in the process) I figured that I would do it on my own. The Company Corporation just wanted to charge me (double the actual cost) to do it through them. It is a LONG process to dissolve a corporation and I am still waiting on one final form (from the state) in order to have it dissolved. Meanwhile, The Company Corporation knows this (I've called them several times) and keeps sending me invoices and threatening to send Collections after me if I don't pay them. If I ever form another company I will NEVER use The Company Corporation and I recommend that you don't either!

UNWANTED SERVICES & FEES a YEAR LATER, RUDE, Greedy CUST. SERVICE - Company Corporation, 12/20/2007 11:36:45 PM
Reviewer: Very Upset from New York
I was researching forming an LLC and got a many Google hits for the Company Corporation and websites that seem to be the same company. The reviews seemed okay at the time.

I didn't realize that I could have easily done this myself through the state or done it with much less pain with a lawyer. I unfortunately trusted them, and now I really REGRET this!

When I contacted the Company Corporation to form an LLC, the saleswoman **name_withheld** supposedly made me a package to include what I needed to form my LLC.
